Kishore Kumar Krishnan has been part of the dance institution, The Temple of Fine Arts from a very young age. As such, he has been exposed to many styles of dance and productions through this institution. He started learning dance in the form of Bharatha Natyam at the age 4 under his mother Shrimathi Bhanumathi Krishnan and consequently Shrimathi Vasugi Sivanesan and Shri Shankar Kandasamy, Mavin Khoo and ventured into Odissi under Shrimathi Geetha Shankaran Lam, Basic Kathak under Sukhi Shetty and a range of folk dances. At 20 he ventured in Ballet and Contemporary dance learning under Umesh Shetty.
In 2011, he enrolled in the diploma program at ASWARA (National Arts Academy, Malaysia). At the same time, He was also immediately given a contract to be in the ASWARA dance company and have performed with them locally & internationally some namely:
Women On Top, JB Arts Festival, MyDance Festival, Dance Teens in Hong Kong, Swan Festival Of Lights Perth, Australia 2012-2015, Philippines Dance Xchange, Cebu MPO Festival, Muara Festival Singapore, The 4th Marketplace for Creative Arts, World Islamic Economic Forum
In 2011 and 2013, he was selected by Dance Work Production, in collaboration with Ena Ballet Company to perform in two major ballet productions which was preceded by intensive ballet training for 2 months each- ‘The White Bat and Copellia’. He then graduated with a Diploma in dance from ASWARA in May 2013.
Kishore completed his Arangetram in September 2013 under the Temple of Fine Arts Kuala Lumpur in collaboration with Aswara and was given the title ‘Nrtyanjali’. He has riveted audiences in all sorts of traditional and contemporary dances.
He pursued his degree at the Western Australian Academy Of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and graduated with a Bachelor in Arts majoring in Dance Performance in 2015 and has worked with local and international acclaimed choreographers such as Nanatte Hassale , Sue Peacock , Michael Whaites , Oded Ronan, Claudia Alesis, Sue Hayley to name a few. He Performed with WAAPA at the World Dance Alliance Singapore and also worked with Zfin Malta Dance Company as part of his internship in June 2015 where he had the opportunity to work with Mavin Khoo (Artistic Director Zfin Malta Dance Company & Rehearsal Director at Akram Khan Dance Company), Nico Monaco and Yen-Ching (Akram Khan Dance Company)
In August 2016 , Kishore was invited by Akram Khan Company to tag along with the dancers to part-take in classes and rehearsals during their KAASH performance in Penang for the Georgetown Festival. Kishore is currently pursuing his
Kishore is currently pursuing his honours program with LINK DANCE COMPANY (WAAPA) and will be performing in Major Festivals is Europe 2017. This year would be his 6th year dancing professionally as he only started dancing at the age of 20 without any prior ballet or contemporary training.
