Hari Hament is a Dental Surgeon and Homeopath by Profession and is also involved in sound engineering at the Temple of Fine Arts. He commenced training in Veena at the age of 9 under the tutelage of Padmavati Anantagopalan who is the sister of the late Padma Bhushan Lalgudi Jayaraman. He was taught the Gayaki style in which all the nuances and gamakas in vocal music are emulated on the veena. His inspiration for playing the harmoniam was derived from Swami Shantananda Saraswati who has guided him in the subtleties of bhajan accompaniment. His goal in teaching is to impart the beauty and simplicity of music so that it inspires the heart.
